2018 Le Pavillon Vineyard Riesling~Limited Library Cellar Supply
Le Pavillon Vineyard was planted in 1972 in the Dundee Hills. The vines are own rooted German clones, Geisenheim 110 and Colmar 813. This extremely small production consisted of one neutral French oak barrel and a stainless steel topping keg. After 7 months the fermentation was halted to retain enough residual sugar to balance the vibrant acidity yet fall into the category of “dry”.
Aromas of grated lemon and lime rind with subtle jasmine and kumquat undernotes. Clean, crisp, and slightly mineral at first followed with tart young apricot tinged with a hint of sweet basil. A tapering dry finish.
